The Gartscheid residence is a protected architectural monument of the market town of Lana in South Tyrol .

history

Heinrich von Goldegg (de Goldecco de Launan) appeared at the Gartscheid farm as early as 1231 . In 1303 the property was given to Jacklin Kartschid by the Rottenbuch monastery as a fief . The family later acquired the Greifenturm residence through marriage and are considered the ancestors of the Barons von Goldegg . In 1647 the Capuchin fathers were granted their first accommodation in Gartscheid. The barons of Hausmann rebuilt the residence and expanded it stately. In more recent times the house was inhabited by Joseph Leonhard von Kall, until it was in the 19th century by Doctor med. Johann Georg Hellrigl Edler zu Rechtenfeld, who was a well-known physician, poet and botanist, was acquired. In 1939 the property came into the possession of the Lösch family.

The current building with stone-framed windows and ox eyes in the attic essentially dates from the 17th century and is provided with a stone-framed pointed arch door from 1546 on the ground floor . In the interior there is a hall which houses a baroque portal with a coat of arms cartouche. The ceiling has a barrel vault with stitch caps. One room is adorned with an 18th century carved coffered ceiling .
