Ant & Dec
Ant & Dec are a British presenter duo consisting of Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly from Newcastle upon Tyne .
Career
McPartlin and Donnelly first met on the set of the youth series Byker Grove . Subsequently, they were initially under the names of their roles in this series as the pop duo PJ & Duncan . Some of their songs landed well in the UK charts. Their most successful song was Let's Get Ready To Rhumble , which first landed at number 9 in 1994, after an appearance on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway , the song reached number 1 in the charts in 2013. They donated the proceeds from the renewed chart success to charity.
During their music careers, they began to moderate individual children's programs. Their final breakthrough on television was not until they switched to ITV . From 1998 onwards, together with Cat Deeley, they presented the two Saturday morning shows SMTV Live and CD: UK. In 2001, they left SMTV Live to host the talent show Pop Idol . In 2018 there will be a special for the 20th anniversary of SMTV Live.
From 2002 on, they had their own Saturday night show, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway . The show includes segments like Undercover Pranks , Ant vs. Dec and Little Ant and Dec . The program paused between 2009 and 2013. In early 2017, the 14th season was broadcast on ITV.
Also from 2002 they started the challenge show I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! showcase. Since 2007 they have also presented the talent show Britain's Got Talent .
Over the years Ant & Dec presented a few more game shows for ITV z. B. Ant & Dec's Push A Button . In 2016 they presented The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration and When Ant and Dec Met The Prince: 40 Years of The Prince's Trust .
In January 2017, Ant and Dec were awarded the Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles .
Awards
Ant & Dec have received a variety of awards. Among other things, they have won the National Television Award for Best Entertainment Presenter 16 years in a row . They have also received 16 more NTAs, 13 BAFTA Television Awards, 23 TV Choice Awards , 8 RTS Awards, and many other small awards.
