The Anta do Pau is located west of São Miguel de Machede , northeast of Évora in the Évora district in Portugal . Anta or dolmen is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic structures that were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture .

The Anta do Pau is a dolmen that can be classified chronologically in the Chalcolithic . It has a large round chamber made of seven supporting stones that are still standing. The capstone was temporarily in the chamber, possibly because of the trees in the immediate vicinity. It was reissued during the restoration. This monument has not yet been classified as a National Monument.

Nearby are the Antas do Monte da Barrosinha 2 + 3.
