Antanas Zapolskis

Antanas Zapolskis (born April 20, 1962 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian chess player , chess referee and sports official.

Life

From 1969 to 1977 Zapolskis studied at the Salomėja Nėris Middle School in Vilnius and from 1978 to 1980 at the 27th Vilnius Middle School. From 1980 he worked as a chess trainer at the sports school for chess in Vilnius. In 1982 he worked at the Vilniaus skaičiavimo mašinų gamykla factory and in 1984 at the Vilnius Chess Club as an instructor. In 1989 he founded a sports cooperative and in 1998 his own sole proprietorship.

In 1992 he was named International Master . From 2000 he was Vice President of the Chess Federation of Lithuania . Zapolskis took part with the Lithuanian national team at the European Team Championships in 1999 and 2003, at the European Club Cup he represented the Vilnius Chess School in 1996 and the ŠK Panevėžys in 2008 .

He lives in Dūkštos , Vilnius district municipality .
