Anthimos Kapsis ( Greek Άνθιμος Καψής ; born September 3, 1950 ) is a former Greek football player .

Player career

Kapsis played his entire career with the green and white of Panathinaikos Athens . He won the Greek championship five times and the cup four times with the men from Athens. He was part of the team that was in the final of the European Cup in 1971 , but lost to Ajax Amsterdam .

Internationally, Kapsis played 36 times for the Greek national team . He took part in the 1980 European Football Championship in Italy , where he was eliminated with the team as bottom group in the preliminary round. Kapsis stood there twice.

Private

Kapsis is the father of the former Greek national player and European champion with Greece Michalis Kapsis , who was under contract with AEK , Girondins Bordeaux , Olympiacos Piraeus and APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus .
