Anthony King (political scientist)
Anthony Stephen King (born November 17, 1934 in Canada - † January 12, 2017 ) was a Canadian - British political scientist and university professor with a research focus on election research .
Life
King was born in Canada and studied at Queen's University and the University of Oxford . He emigrated to Great Britain in the 1950s, where he taught at the University of Essex after completing his doctorate in Oxford . From 1972 to 1977 he was editor of the British Journal of Political Science . From 1983 to 2005 he was an election analyst for the BBC . King died in 2017 at the age of 82.
He was a member of the Academia Europaea and the British Academy . In 1993 he was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
