Antirrhinum charidemi is a plant type from the genus of snapdragons ( Antirrhinum ) in the family of plantain plants (Plantaginaceae).

description

Antirrhinum charidemi is a dwarf shrub whose creeping to ascending, tangled, branched stems reach lengths of up to 35 cm. Stems, leaves and flower stalks are finely hairy without glands , calyx , crown and fruits are hairy with glands. The mostly alternate leaves are 8 to 28 mm long and 4 to 9 mm wide, elliptical to elongated-lanceolate and blunt. The leaf stalks are 1 to 3 mm long.

The bracts are similar to the smaller leaves. The flower stalks are 3 to 12 mm long. The calyx is covered with 5 to 8 mm long, lanceolate and pointed calyx tips. The crown is 25 to 35 mm long, colored white or pale pink and has a yellow palate.

The fruits are almost spherical capsules with a diameter of 7 to 8 mm.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence and locations

The species is widespread in south-eastern Spain near Cabo de Gata . It grows there on slate rocks.
