The Eustigmatales are a taxon of photosynthetically active protozoa from the stramenopile group .

features

The representatives are coccoid protozoa or form colonies. They have a cell wall . The plastids have a belt lamella. The endoplasmic reticulum of the plastid has a membrane connection with the outer membrane of the cell nucleus. The DNA of the plastid has a ring-type genophore .

The plastid pigments include chlorophyll a, violaxanthin and vaucherioxanthin .

Swarming cells have two flagella , one pointing forward and the other pointing backward. The cells have four microtubular kinetosome roots and one large, striped kinetosome root (rhizoplast).
