Antje Bostelmann (born October 30, 1960 in Rostock ) is a German author of educational non-fiction books as well as the founder and managing director of the Klax Group, an international educational institution for educational institutions with headquarters in Berlin.

Life

After training as a day nursery teacher from 1979 to 1982, Antje Bostelmann initially worked as deputy day care manager in Berlin-Marzahn until 1987 . An evening course at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art formed the basis for her work as a freelance artist. As such, she supervised the art lessons of working groups at schools in Berlin-Pankow . After the fall of the Berlin Wall , Bostelmann pursued the goal of establishing a private painting school with an artistic focus and afternoon care and founded the Klax eV in 1990. Initially, the association offered children's courses in painting, ceramics and dance, today Klax operates crèches, kindergartens, schools and training centers as an international educational institution - and further education institutions in Germany and Sweden.

The Klax pedagogy

Around the same time that the painting school was founded , Antje Bostelmann began developing and working out her own educational concept. Today, Klax pedagogy is used both in our own institutions and in those of other institutions. The concept is competence-oriented and is based on the individual in terms of content and method. In a copy of other reform pedagogical approaches such as Montessori or Reggio pedagogy , the focus here is also on the child's absorption of the learning content and not its communication. The Klax pedagogy supports the development and development of a personality while taking individual characteristics into account. The method “learning according to goals” is followed, which states that the sequence or rhythm of learning play a subordinate role, but rather the result is decisive. Thus, the pedagogical educational concept is based on the competencies , as has been required for years in the framework curricula and educational recommendations of public school and preschool institutions. At the center of educational activity which is portfolio work . Pedagogical specialists document the child's level of development in individual portfolios. This serves as the starting point for individual educational plans and goals, which are reformulated in regular cycles. The children's learning progress is also documented in the portfolio. The learning objectives include language and language development, play, emotional and psychological development, sex education, traffic education and media skills.
