Antje Röder (born October 17, 1978 in Berlin ; now Antje Fröhlich-Röder ) is a former German beach volleyball player .

Career

Antje Röder began playing volleyball indoors in 1996 . In 1998 she played her first beach volleyball tournament. In 2003 she played with Krumbeck and reached seventh place at the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand . The following year Ulrike Schmidt was her partner, with whom she took fifth place in the DM. Röder has formed a duo with her former competitor Helke Claasen since 2005 . In the first year they took part in the FIVB World Tour and the World Championships in their hometown and finished seventh in the national championship. A year later, they improved by two places and gained further international experience. 2007 was the national duo's most successful year to date. At the World Championships in Gstaad and at the European Championships in Valencia they came in fifth and in the final of the German Championship they were defeated by Sara Goller / Laura Ludwig with 18:20 in the third set. At the German championships in 2008, Claasen / Röder took third place, after which the duo separated. In 2009 and 2011 Antje Röder played with Hella Jurich , and in 2010 she took a baby break.

Private

Röder lives in Berlin and is a qualified business woman . She is married to beach volleyball player André Fröhlich .
