The Marzahner Volleyball Club eV (short: MVC ) is a volleyball club from the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf , which belongs to the Berlin Volleyball Association in the German Volleyball Association . The MVC was founded on June 13, 2000 and emerged from the Marzahner SV . The MVC is the home club for numerous Bundesliga and national players as well as some top beach volleyball players.

concept

The association sees the promotion of volleyball for young women as its central task. In all youth division of the U12 to U20, the Marzahner VC competes with 1 to 3 teams in the youth, qualification and cup rounds. There are also three women's teams, each of which is complemented by talented youth players who compete in adult games. The first women's team has been playing in the Regionalliga Nordost since the 2005/06 season.

The team earned promotion from the Berlin League to the Regionalliga Nordost in the 2004/05 season. Since then, it has consistently played in the fourth-highest division for women in Germany.

Successful training

Many top volleyball players played at the beginning of their careers at MVC: Hella Jurich ( German Beach Champion 2004), Antje Röder (5th place Beach World Cup 2007 ), Inga Vollbrecht ( second division champion 2011 ), Nadja Glenzke , Grit Lehmann , Linda Dörendahl ( German Champion 2006 , 2009 and Fifth Junior Women's World Championships 2003), Kristin Kasperski (winner of the Military World Championships 2009), Regina Burchardt ( Vice European Champion 2011 ), Marika Steinhauff (3rd of the Student World Championships 2010, 5th of the U23 Beach EM 2010) and others.

Venue

The home games take place in the hall of the Rudolf Virchow Sports Park in Berlin-Marzahn.

International tournament

The Marzahner VC judged its XXIII. European youth volleyball tournament. In 2015 teams from Russia, Austria, Poland, Belgium and the Czech Republic are expected again. Girls of the age groups U12, U14 and U16 play for the coveted trophies in this international tournament in Berlin.
