Marika Steinhauff (born February 4, 1989 in Berlin , now Marika Birr ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Steinhauff played indoor volleyball in her youth at the local Marzahn volleyball club . In 2001 she moved to VC 68 Eichwalde , with whom she won the German D-Youth Championship in 2002, the German C-Youth Championship in 2004 and the German B-Youth Championship in 2006 (now as Berlin Brandenburger Sportclub ). With the Coubertin-Gymnasium Berlin Steinhauff also won the World School Championship in 2006. At the same time, she played with the national junior team from VC Olympia Berlin until 2007 in the Bundesliga . From 2009 to 2011 Steinhauff was active at the Berlin second division club SG Rotation Prenzlauer Berg .

Steinhauff has also played beach volleyball since 2004. With Saskia Hippe she reached ninth place at the U18 European Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2006 . In 2007, Anja Günther was her partner. Steinhauff / Günther started on the national Smart Beach Tour and achieved ninth place in the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand . With Victoria Bieneck , Steinhauff became German U20 runner-up in Bocholt in 2007 . From 2008 to 2010, Bieneck / Steinhauff played on the Smart Beach Tour and had some top placements. In 2009 they also took part in the German championship and reached fifth place at the U21 World Cup in Blackpool, England . They also finished fifth a year later at the U23 European Championship on the Greek island of Kos . In 2010 Steinhauff had her only appearance on the FIVB World Tour alongside Katharina Schillerwein in Kristiansand, Norway . In 2011, Jenny Heinemann was Steinhauff's partner, with whom she had without exception top ten placements on the Smart Beach Tour and thus qualified for the German championship. After a two-year break, Steinhauff played with Alicia Leszczynska in 2014 and with Kristina Schlechter in 2015 .
