FIVB Women's World Tour 2010

The women's FIVB World Tour 2010 consisted of 15 beach volleyball tournaments, six of which were held as a grand slam and the other nine as an open .

Tournaments

Brasilia Open (April 19-24)

As in the previous year, the women's tour started in April 2010 in the capital of Brazil . Since the multiple German volleyball player of the year Angelina Green with her partner Rieke Brink-Abeler already in the Country_Quota failed and their conquerors of Hüttermann / Schumacher and Kohler / Sude not qualifying survived, reached by the German pairs in addition to the set Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig only Laboureur / Lehmann as lucky loser the main field, after two defeats they finished 25th place. Shanghai Open (May 4th to 9th)

New edition of the 2009 World Cup finals: As in Stavanger, the winners in China were Jennifer Kessy and April Ross against Larissa and Juliana. Also in the game for third place the duel between Brazil and the United States. The bronze medal went to the South Americans Antonelli and Talita against May-Treanor-Branagh. The best Germans were Geeske Banck and Anja Günther in seventh place, Goller / Ludwig retired early without a win and only came in 25.

Foro Italico Beach Volley Grand Slam in Rome (May 17th to 22nd)

After Larissa and Juliana had dominated their preliminary group in the first Grand Slam of the season, the quarter-finals were the final destination against their compatriots Antonelli and Talita. Seoul Open (May 25-30)

No German team was able to advance from the qualification to the main draw, in which Geeske Banck and Anja Günther reached 17th place after a win, Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler took 13th place after two successes. Despite an early defeat in the second round, Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller made it to the quarter-finals, but there was the final stop against their conquerors in the final in Rome. Grand Slam in Moscow (June 7th to 13th)

In the country quota, Angelina Grün / Rieke Brink-Abeler first prevailed against Julia Sude / Jana Köhler and then against Claudia Lehmann / Chantal Laboreur, but the second round of the main qualification was the end of the line for the former indoor national player and her partner. Grand Slam in Stavanger (June 28th to July 3rd)

In the country quota Laboureur / Lehmann failed to Köhler / Sude and Banck / Günther to Brink-Abeler / Grün, both winning teams were able to prevail in the qualification, but were eliminated in the group games with three defeats each. As in Moscow, Holtwick / Semmler reached the shared 13th place. Due to the sometimes surprising results in the preliminary round groups, number one Larissa / Juliana against number two Jennifer Kessy / April Ross and number three Talita / Antonelli against number four Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig already came in the round of 16. Grand Slam in Gstaad (July 5th to 10th)

The German Country Quota ended with the same results in the same pairings as in Stavanger, but with the difference that the winners could not prevail in the qualification. The two seeded German pairs were more successful and met in the quarter-finals. The defeated Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler took fifth place for the second time this season, the winners Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig reached the final after another victory over the Chinese Xue / Zhang Xi, which they could not win in the fourth attempt . World Series 13 Marseille (July 19-25)

Köhler / Sude prevailed like Brink-Abeler / Grün both in the country quota and in the qualification, but could not win either of their two games in the main field. Grand Slam in Klagenfurt (July 26th to 31st)

The Köhler / Sude and Laboreur / Lehmann, who were successful in the country quota against Brink-Aberler / Grün and defeated Banck / Günther, failed in the second qualifying round. The two remaining German couples in Group E met in the main field. The defeated Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler qualified for the round of the last 24 pairs, but then lost to the two Brazilians Antonelli and Talita. Mazuri Grand Slam in Stare Jabłonki (August 2nd to 7th)

While Geeske Banck and Anja Günther failed to qualify after a bye in the country quota, Jana Köhler and Julia Sude, who had previously won against Brink-Abeler / Grün, prevailed. Kristiansand Open (August 9th to 14th)

The top European teams were not at the start in Norway, as the European Beach Volleyball Championships were taking place in Berlin at the same time . In the Country Quota, Karla Borger and Britta Büthe were defeated by Katharina Schillerwein and Marika Steinhauff . While the two failed in the second round of qualification, as did Laboureur / Lehmann, Angelina Grün and Rieke Brink-Abeler reached the main field, won another five games there with only one defeat, but had to play for the semi-finals against the current world champions Kessy and Ross cancel due to Brink-Abeler's injury. Åland Open (August 16-21)

In Mariehamn , Laboreur and Lehmann defeated Fischer and Großner in the country quota, but then lost to Jana Köhler and Julia Sude. Angelina Grün and Rieke Brink-Abeler could not repeat their Norwegian success and were left behind against Stefanie Hüttermann and Anni Schumacher . Both successful German teams survived the qualification. The Hague Open (August 24-29)

Sanya Open (October 26th to 31st)

Both the early tour winners 2010 Larissa / Juliana and their compatriots Talita and Antonelli were not present at the penultimate tournament of the year in China. Phuket Thailand Open (November 2-7)

As in China, the two best Brazilian teams did not start in Karon either.
