FIVB World Tour 2015 women

The women's FIVB World Tour 2015 consisted of five Grand Slams and six Open . In addition, there was the World Cup in the Netherlands as well as three tournaments in the newly created Major Series and the season finale in Fort Lauderdale. The two subsequent Openings in Mexico and Turkey belong to the 2015/16 season.

Fuzhou Open, China, April 22-26, 2015

Analogous to the men , a German women's team also reached the final in Fuzhou . Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude finished second in their pool and then defeated Anni Schumacher and Sandra Seyfferth before they met another German couple. Victoria Bieneck and Yanina Weiland were actually eliminated after their defeat in the second qualifying round, but still came into the main field as lucky losers and were able to win their preliminary group with two wins and one defeat. The interim duo had no chance against Laboreur / Sude, who knocked out Pata / Matauatu from Vanuatu in the quarter-finals and defeated the number one Chinese Wang / Yue in the semi-finals . In the other semifinals , April Ross and Kerri Walsh lost to Canadians Jamie Lynn Broder / Kristina Valjas . The Americans won the bronze medal, while the athletes from Victoria and Toronto won the final.

Teresa Mersmann and Isabel Schneider lost in the first main round. Anna Behlen and Katharina Culav were unlucky enough to be eliminated in the qualifying round. Culav was injured on his own match point on a stone slab in the field. The Austrians Schützenhöfer / Plesiutschnig reached the main round one with a victory. Their compatriots Schwaiger S. / Hansel failed as the last of their pool despite a game win. Swiss teams did not start in China.

Luzern Open, Switzerland, May 12-17, 2015

After their victory over Schumacher / Seyfferth in the reintroduced Country Quota , Victoria Bieneck and Julia Großner also survived the qualification and made it to the second final round, unbeaten as well as Katrin Holtwick / Ilka Semmler and Karla Borger / Britta Büthe . Laboreur / Sude with a defeat, the Swiss Goricanec / Hüberli with three successes, their compatriots Zumkehr / Heidrich , Forrer / Vergé-Dépré and the Austrians Schwaiger S./Hansel made it to the round of 16 via the first round. Schützenhöfer / Plesiutschnig lost their game after surviving the pool round, while the Swiss Betschart / Eiholzer had no win.

Schwaiger / Hansel, Borger / Büthe and Bieneck / Großner made it into the round of the last eight. The latter was defeated by the winners from Fuzhou, who in turn lost out to the reigning European champions . Borger / Büthe defeated the Austrians and then secured the gold medal against the team from the Netherlands . The Canadians won the bronze medal.

Mersmann / Schneider defeated Behlen / Behrens in the German qualifying , but lost in the qualification. Schwaiger S./Hansel and Betschart / Eiholzer, who fought their way into the round of 16, did better. Schützenhöfer / Plesiutschnig reached the first main round with a success, as did Bieneck / Großner. Schumacher / Seyfferth did not manage to do this, although they had also won once in the pool round.

Julia Sude and Chantal Laboreur were unbeaten in the top eight. The two Germans lost their game against Duda / Elize Maia . Further participants in the semi-finals were Agatha / Seixas, who had to compete against the siblings Maria Clara / Carol . After their victory in the Brazilian duel, the former also won the final against the Canadians Bansley / Pavan , who had previously won the other semifinals. Duda and Elize Maia secured the bronze medal without a fight.

Moscow Grand Slam, Russia, May 26th to 31st, 2015

The Laboreur / Sude, who were actually eliminated in the Country Quota, fought their way through the qualification as lucky losers, while their conquerors Bieneck / Großner failed as did the Austrians Schwaiger / Hansel and Teufl V. / Zass B. In contrast, the Swiss Forrer / Vergé-Dépré achieved the main competition. In the pool round they were eliminated despite a game win, as did Goricanec / Hüberli and Borger / Büthe. In contrast, one success each was enough for Ludwig / Walkenhorst and Zumkehr / Heidrich to advance. With two victories u. a. against the confederates Holtwick / Semmler reached the final round one. All three duos then lost their match. In the group with Holtwick / Semmler and Zumkehr / Heidrich, Laboureur / Sude prevailed undefeated. The round of 16 was the last stop for the two.

In the semifinals Menegatti / Orsi Toth lost to Meppelink / van Iersel and Wang Fan / Yue Y. to Larissa / Talita . The South Americans also won the final, while the Asians were left empty-handed in the battle for medals.

For the third time in a row the duel in the German country quota was Laboreur / Sude against Bieneck / Großner. In contrast to the result in Poreč , this time the latter were the winners and, in contrast to Moscow , there was no happy ending as a lucky loser for Burkhard Sude's daughter and her partner. The winners starting for the VC Olympia Berlin lost in the qualification against the Austrian duo Stefanie Schwaiger and Barbara Hansel, while their compatriots Schützenhöfer / Plesiutschnig did not reach the main competition.

Holtwick / Semmler were eliminated in the pool round despite a victory, while Schwaiger S./Hansel and the Swiss pairs Forrer / Vergé-Dépré and Goricanec / Hüberli reached round one, but lost there. For the Confederates Zumkehr / Heidrich, the last stop was the round of 16. Ludwig / Walkenhorst and Borger / Büthe were each the first in their pool to successfully contest this.
