Paula Soria Gutiérrez (born January 31, 1993 in Orihuela ) is a Spanish beach volleyball player .

Career

Soria finished fifth in Porto in 2010 at the U18 European Championship with María del Carmen Martínez Ferrer and at the U19 World Cup with Ángela Lobato Herrero . In 2011 Martínez / Soria finished ninth at the U19 World Cup in Umag . At the U20 European Championship in Tel Aviv , Lobato / Soria reached 13th place. With Raquel Brun Forcadell , Soria finished seventh at the U20 European Championship in Hartberg in 2012 and fourth at the U21 World Cup in 2013. In the same year Lobato / Soria reached the final at the U22 European Championships in Varna , which they lost against the Swiss Betschart / Vergé-Dépré .

In 2014 Lobato / Soria played their first tournament on the FIVB World Tour at the Prague Open . Then they were fourth at the Anapa Open and fifth at the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice . They won the CEV satellite tournament in Montpellier and a national tournament in Madrid . At the end of the year they were still playing the Xiamen Open. In the first tournaments of the World Tour 2015, they climbed up to fifth place in Prague. After two weaker appearances at the Grand Slam in Moscow and the Major in Poreč , they took part in the European Games in Baku and also came fifth there. At the 2015 European Championships in Klagenfurt , they came third in the first knockout round and had to admit defeat to the Swiss Heidrich / Zumkehr . After a fifth place at the CEV Masters in Biel / Bienne and a national tournament victory in Fuengirola , the year ended with two 25th places at the Open tournaments in Sochi and Xiamen. On the World Tour 2016 Lobato / Soria did not get beyond the back positions. At the European Championships in Biel / Bienne, they were eliminated as the bottom of the group after the preliminary round. In August they won two more national tournaments in Tarragona and Fuengirola before they parted ways.

In 2017, Soria played alongside Olympic participant Elsa Baquerizo Macmillan . At the CEV Masters in Alanya the Spaniards took fifth place. Baquerizo / Soria finished ninth at the European Championships in Jūrmala . María Belén Carro Sorias has been a new partner since 2018 , with whom she became university runner- up in Munich and finished second at the FIVB 1-star tournaments in Manila and Bangkok . At the European Championships in Moscow in 2019, Carro / Soria were eliminated after the preliminary round. The best result on the FIVB World Tour 2019 was a fourth place at the 3-star tournament in Kuala Lumpur .
