Taru Lahti (born December 9, 1992 in Tampere , now Taru Lahti-Liukkonen ) is a Finnish volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career
Indoor volleyball
Lahti started her career at LP Kangasala . She made her first division debut in November 2008 when she played for Vanajan RC. She made it to the national cup final with the club in 2009, before becoming Finnish runner-up a year later. She later moved to Viimsi Spa in Estonia . After returning home in 2011, she joined her current club, Pieksämäki Volley.

Lahti played her first satellite tournament in Turku in 2006 with Jennamiia Ripatti. At the U20 European Championships in Greece in 2009, she finished 19th with Sini Häkkinen. The following year she and Pauliina Vilponen came in 29th at the Youth World Cup in Porto . In 2011 she formed a duo with Riikka Lehtonen and took part in an open tournament on the FIVB World Tour in Åland for the first time . In the same year she won the Finnish championship. In 2012 Lahti / Lehtonen played their first Grand Slam in Stare Jabłonki . At the Bang Saen Open, Lahti and Emilia Nyström came in ninth in the top ten for the first time. In 2013 she formed a duo with Kirsi Hyttinen . Lahti / Hyttinen finished the Grand Slam in Rome in 33rd place. In Klagenfurt they took part in the European Championship . In 2014 Lahti played again with Riikka Lehtonen. Lehtonen / Lahti finished seventh and fifth in two CEV tournaments in Antalya and Baden . In Quartu Sant'Elena they took part in the European Championship , but were eliminated after three defeats in the preliminary round. In the following years Lehtonen / Lahti played with varying success on the European and World Tour. After finishing ninth at the 2017 World Cup in Vienna , the two separated.
Since then, Lahti has been playing alongside Anniina Parkkinen , with whom she has competed in several tournaments since the end of 2016. Lahti / Parkkinen finished fifth at the 2017 European Championships in Jūrmala and had some top ten results on the 2018 and 2019 FIVB World Tour . They also took part in the 2019 World Cup in Hamburg .
