Anniina Parkkinen (born July 30, 1996 in Pieksämäki ) is a Finnish beach volleyball player .

Career

Parkkinen and Emmi Huovinen finished seventh at the U18 European Championship in Brno in 2012 . In 2013 she came ninth with Taru Lahti at the U22 European Championship in Varna and fifth at the NEVZA series (North European Volleyball Zonal Association) tournament in Gothenburg . In 2014 she first played the CEV satellite tournament in Antalya with Niina Ahtiainen . With Essi Hasu she won the NEVZA tournament in Kolding . At the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice Parkkinen / Lahti lost the bronze medal against Canadians Humana-Paredes / Pischke . After that, Parkkinen and Hasu finished ninth at the satellite tournament in Vaduz and the NEVZA tournament in Oslo . She finished the U20 European Championship with Ahtiainen in ninth place. After a 17th place at the CEV Satellite in Stuttgart , Parkkinen / Hasu came into the top ten in the NEVZA series in Jyväskylä , Gothenburg and Bournemouth . In December they played their first joint open tournament of the FIVB World Tour in Mangaung and finished in 17th place.

In 2015 they played another open tournament in Prague , but were eliminated early. Then they finished fifth and second at the NEVZA tournaments in Odense and Lohja and ninth and thirteenth at the satellite tournaments in Maladsetschna and Vaduz. At the 2015 European Championships in Klagenfurt , they made it to the first knockout round as third in the group and had to admit defeat to the Italians Giombini / Toti . At the end of the year they finished fifth in the NEVZA tournament in Gothenburg.

Parkkinen / Hasu started the 2016 season with the Antalya Open and a second place in Kolding (NEVZA). At the 2016 European Championships in Biel / Bienne, they were eliminated from the group last in the preliminary round without winning a set. Then they played the satellite tournaments in Vilnius, Vaduz and Kisakallio , increasing from thirteenth to ninth to seventh place. At the NEVZA tournament in Kuopio they finished fifth. Parkkinen achieved the same result at the Jūrmala Masters with Taru Lahti. With Riikka Lehtonen she won the NEVZA tournament in Oslo before she again managed the finals in Bournemouth and another tournament victory in Gothenburg with Lahti.

At the start of the 2017 World Tour , Parkkinen / Lahti came 17th in the five-star tournament in Fort Lauderdale . In the three-star tournaments in Xiamen with Lehtonen and The Hague with Lahti (three stars each) Parkkinen achieved ninth and 25th place. At the CEV Masters in Baden , she finished fifth with Lehtonen before winning the following Masters in Alanya with Lahti in the final against the German duo Behrens / Schumacher . She played the satellite tournament in Larnaka with Erika Nyström and finished fifth. Parkkinen / Lahti reached fifth place at the 2017 European Championships in Jūrmala and had some top ten results on the FIVB World Tour 2018 and 2019 . They also took part in the 2019 World Cup in Hamburg .
