Essi Hasu (born August 10, 1987 in Elimäki ) is a Finnish beach volleyball player .

Career

Hasu played with Noora Tikka in Mysłowice in 2005 at the U23 European Championship (13th place) and in 2006 at the U21 World Championship (29th place). In 2014 Hasu first played the CEV satellite tournament in Antalya with Ida Sinisalo . With Anniina Parkkinen she then won the NEVZA tournament in Kolding . After that Hasu / Parkkinen finished ninth in the satellite tournament in Vaduz and in the NEVZA tournament in Oslo . After a 17th place at the CEV-Satellite in Stuttgart , they came into the top ten in the NEVZA series in Jyväskylä , Gothenburg and Bournemouth . In December they played their first joint open tournament of the FIVB World Tour in Mangaung and finished in 17th place.

In 2015 Hasu / Parkkinen played another open tournament in Prague , but were eliminated early. Then they finished fifth and second at the NEVZA tournaments in Odense and Lohja and ninth and thirteenth at the satellite tournaments in Maladsetschna and Vaduz. At the 2015 European Championships in Klagenfurt , they made it to the first knockout round as third in the group and had to admit defeat to the Italians Giombini / Toti . At the end of the year they finished fifth in the NEVZA tournament in Gothenburg .

Hasu / Parkkinen started the 2016 season with the Antalya Open and a second place in Kolding (NEVZA). At the 2016 European Championships in Biel / Bienne, they were eliminated from the group last in the preliminary round without winning a set. Then they played the satellite tournaments in Vilnius, Vaduz and Kisakallio , increasing from thirteenth to ninth to seventh place. At the NEVZA tournament in Kuopio they finished fifth. Hasu then ended her international career.
