Ida Sinisalo (born May 9, 1997 in Imatra ) is a Finnish beach volleyball player .

Career

Sinisalo completed her training at the Märsky School in Helsinki and started volleyball in 2002. Since 2012 she has been forming a beach volleyball duo with Niina Ahtiainen . Sinisalo / Ahtiainen took 19th place at the U20 European Championships in Hartberg and took part in their first FIVB World Tour tournament at the Åland Open . In 2013 they finished ninth in the U20 European Championship in Vilnius and came 17th in the U18 European Championship in Maladsetschna . At a tournament of the NEVZA series (North European Volleyball Zonal Association) in Gothenburg they finished fifth. In 2014 Sinisalo first played the CEV satellite tournament in Antalya with Essi Hasu . Sinisalo / Ahtiainen won the bronze medal at the U18 European Championships in Kristiansand . In 2015 they came ninth at the NEVZA tournament in Lohja . They achieved the same result at the U22 European Championship in Macedo de Cavaleiros . At the U20 European Championship in Larnaka they only had to admit defeat to the Dutch Daalderop / Stubbe in the final.

In 2016 they finished 17th at the U21 World Cup in Lucerne and at the satellite tournament in Vilnius , before finishing ninth at the U20 European Championship in Antalya . After a 13th place at the Vaduz Satellite and a second place at the NEVZA tournament in Kuopio , they reached 17th place at the U22 European Championship in Thessaloniki . Then there were further top ten results for them at the satellite tournaments in Skopje and Pelhřimov and the NEVZA tournament in Oslo . On the World Tour 2017 Sinisalo / Ahtiainen first played the tournaments in Fort Lauderdale (five stars) and Moscow (three stars), whereby they were eliminated early. In Baden they finished ninth in the U22 European Championship and took 17th place at the Masters in the same place. After a 25th place at the FIVB tournament in Poreč (five stars), they achieved 17th, 13th and ninth place at the CEV tournaments in Laholm , Alanya and Vilnius. At the four-star tournament of the World Tour in Olsztyn they came in 25th again and at the CEV satellite in Larnaka they came in seventh. Sinisalo / Ahtiainen qualified for the 2017 European Championship in Jūrmala .
