Taylor Pischke (born April 18, 1993 in Winnipeg ) is a Canadian beach volleyball player .

Career

Pischke studied at the University of Manitoba and the University of California, Santa Barbara . During this time she played volleyball in the university teams .

As a beach volleyball player, she formed a duo with Melissa Humana-Paredes in 2012 and achieved fifth place with her at the U21 World Cup in Halifax . At the U23 World Cup 2013 in Mysłowice , Humana-Paredes / Pischke won the bronze medal. Then they played their first Grand Slam in Long Beach . On the continental tour, they won a tournament in Varadero and came second in Mazatlán . This series was followed by finals in Grand Cayman and Toronto in early 2014, as well as a win in Manzanillo . At the FIVB Open Tournament in Puerto Vallarta , Humana-Paredes / Pischke finished ninth and at the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice they again took third place. They then played four Grand Slams, finishing ninth in Stare Jabłonki and fifth in São Paulo twice in the top ten. At the end of the year they won the NORCECA tournament in Trinidad and Tobago .

On the World Tour 2015 , Humana-Paredes / Pischke achieved further top ten results as fifth in the Fuzhou Open and ninth in the Prague Open and the major tournament in Stavanger . At the World Cup in the Netherlands , they reached the second round in the group, in which they were defeated by the eventual tournament winners Bárbara / Ágatha from Brazil. At the Pan American Games in Toronto, they just missed a medal in fourth. In 2016 there was a fifth place in the FIVB series in Xiamen and ninth place at the Vitória Open, the major tournament in Hamburg and the Grand Slam Olsztyn . At the end of the year Humana-Paredes and Jamie Lynn Broder won the NORCECA tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2017 Pischke formed a new duo with Kristina May , who competed for the first time at the five-star tournament on the World Tour in Fort Lauderdale . At the three-star tournament in Moscow , Pischke / May reached the top ten for the first time in ninth place.

family

Pischke comes from a volleyball family. Her father Garth Pischke took part as a Canadian national player at the Olympic tournaments in Montreal in 1976 and in Los Angeles in 1984 . Her mother Cindy was on the junior national team and her brother Dane plays at the University of Manitoba.
