Jennifer Fopma (born October 30, 1981 in Leiden , Netherlands) is an American beach volleyball player .

Career

Fopma played during their training at the Pepperdine University and later at the California State University, Northridge first volleyball . In 2005 she began her career in beach volleyball. Until 2007 she played on the AVP tour with her former classmate Stacy Rouwenhorst . For the rest of the tournaments of the year she appeared first with Julie Romias and then with Holly McPeak . In 2008, after seven AVP tournaments at the side of Jenny Pavley, she formed a duo with Brittany Hochevar , who was also her partner in 2009. At the Barcelona Open 2009 Fopma and Whitney Pavlik took part for the first time in a tournament of the FIVB World Tour . In 2010, she also played the first two AVP tournaments with Pavlik before entering into a new partnership with Keao Burdine . The following year she competed internationally again with Hochevar and achieved 17th place in Shanghai as the best result in three open tournaments . On the American tour, Tracy Jones was Fopma's partner.

In 2012 Fopma formed a new duo with Brooke Sweat . Fopma / Sweat took part in a Grand Slam for the first time in Gstaad . In 2013 they achieved a tournament victory and a third place on the Continental Tour. After two 17th places in China, they finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Rome . At the World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , Fopma / Sweat reached the main round, where they were eliminated against the Americans Fendrick / Hochevar . In 2014 Fopma played again with Whitney Pavlik. In 2015 she played first with Summer Ross , later with April Ross and then again with Brittany Hochevar.

Private

Fopma is the daughter of a professional basketball player . She was born in the Netherlands because her father was playing there, but came to the United States with her family a year later.
