Brittany Hochevar (born May 26, 1981 in Fowler ) is an American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Hochevar began playing volleyball at Fowler High School. She played on the university team while studying at California State University, Long Beach . From 2002 to 2004, the setter was active in the US national team . With the team she won the 2003 NORCECA championship and the bronze medal at the Pan American Games . From 2005 to 2008 she also played for clubs in Puerto Rico , Turkey and Spain .

In 2004 she started her career as a beach volleyball player and in the first two years she took part in the AVP tour with various partners . In 2006 she played with Olympian Logan Tom . During the season, however, she suffered a serious back injury. She returned the following year. On the American tour she was with Lauren Fendrick , Holly McPeak and Keao Burdine . The latter was also her partner in 2008 before moving to Jennifer Fopma . In 2009 and 2010 Hochevar completed her first open tournaments in Phuket and Sanya on the FIVB World Tour with Jenny Kropp and Jaimi Gregory . In 2010, her teammate in the USA was Dianne DeNecochea .

In 2011, Hochevar played three open tournaments with Fopma and came 17th in Shanghai . In Stavanger she took part in a Grand Slam for the first time with her new partner Lisa Rutledge . At the Open tournaments in Québec and The Hague , Hochevar / Rutledge finished ninth each time. In 2012, Hochevar formed a duo with Angela Akers . After there were only places 25 and 33 at first, the team climbed to 17th place at the last joint appearance in Stare Jabłonki . At the end of the 2012 season and the first tournaments in 2013, Hochevar played alternately with Emily Day and Summer Ross . She achieved two top 3 placements on the Continental Tour. In Corrientes , Hochevar was back on the field with Fendrick for the first time. Fendrick / Hochevar finished ninth in the Grand Slam in Rome. At the World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , Fendrick / Hochevar ended up in fifth place after a quarter-final defeat against the German Borger / Büthe .

In 2014, Hochevar first played with Carico Lane and later with Heather McGuire until June 2015 . After that, Jennifer Fopma was her partner again until May 2016. With Emily Day , Hochevar had some top ten results on the FIVB World Tour from 2016 to 2018 . Kelly was Claes Hochevars partner in 2018 . At the 4-star tournament of the World Tour in Xiamen , Claes / Hochevar reached the final, in which they lost to the Canadians Humana-Paredes / Pavan .
