Dianne DeNecochea (born November 16, 1967 in Detroit , Michigan as Dianne Shoemaker ) is a former American beach volleyball and volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

As Dianne Shoemaker, she played volleyball at the University of Tennessee from 1985 to 1989 . Then the outside attacker went to Europe and played three years in Switzerland for the University of Basel and then in Belgium for the Dauphines Charleroi , with whom she won the national cup in 1994. 1997/98 she played in the diagonal position in the Italian "Serie A1" for Cemar Rubiera.

Career beach volleyball

Dianne DeNecochea made her first appearances on the US AVP tour in 1999 and 2000 . In 2001 she was active with Wendy Stammer on almost the entire AVP tour and also started on the FIVB World Tour with Liz Masakayan . DeNecochea / Masakayan finished ninth at the beach volleyball world championship in 2001 in Klagenfurt . In 2002 Barbra Fontana was her new partner, with whom she had almost exclusively top ten placements on the AVP and World Tour. DeNecochea played just as successfully in 2003 alongside Nancy Reynolds . At the Beach Volleyball World Championship in Rio de Janeiro in 2003 , DeNecochea / Reynolds finished ninth. Since 2004 DeNecochea has played almost exclusively on the domestic AVP tour with Tammy Leibl , Holly McPeak , Carrie Dodd and Brittany Hochevar .

Private

Dianne DeNecochea is married and has two daughters. She is also active as a trainer in San Diego .
