Emily Day (born August 9, 1987 in Torrance ) is an American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Day was initially interested in football . In 2005 she finally decided to play volleyball while studying at Loyola Marymount University . Until she graduated in 2009, she played on the university team. She then moved to the Swiss club VBC Franches-Montagnes .

Career beach volleyball

In 2007 Day started playing beach volleyball and qualified with her partner Heather Hughes as the youngest team for the main round of an AVP tournament. After appearing in various duos in 2009, she got back together with Hughes in 2010. In 2011 Day / Hughes played their first open tournaments on the FIVB World Tour . They finished fourth in the Pan American Games . In 2012 they took part in Grand Slams for the first time. Day played the last tournament in 2012 in Bang Saen as well as the Grand Slam 2013 in Shanghai with Brittany Hochevar . She then appeared in Corrientes for the first time with Summer Ross . With Whitney Pavlik she won the Continental Tour tournament in Mexico. Day / Pavlik also played the Grand Slams in The Hague and Rome . At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , Day reached the main round alongside Summer Ross, where she was eliminated by the Austrian siblings D. Schwaiger / S. Schwaiger . In 2015 and 2016, Day played alongside former world champion Jennifer Kessy . In 2017, Brittany Hochevar was her partner again.

Day has been playing with Betsi Flint since April 2018 . Day / Flint won the 3-star tournament of the FIVB World Tour in Haiyang .
