Andrezza Martins das Chagas ( Georgian ანდრეცა ჩაგაში ; born August 2, 1977 in Manaus ) is a Georgian beach volleyball player . The native Brazilian competed under the name “Rtwelo” with her partner Cristine Santanna (nickname “Saka”) for Georgia in order to avoid the great competition at home.

Career

Saka / Rtwelo, whose stage names together make up the name for Georgia in the local language, played their first open tournaments in 2006. The next year in Montreal they came in ninth in the top ten for the first time. At the World Championships in Gstaad , they reached the first main round as third in the group, in which they failed to the Chinese Xue Chen / Zhang Xi . At the European Championship in 2008 they were defeated in the opening game to the later winners Goller / Ludwig and then fought their way up to the fourth round on the losing side, which they also lost against a German duo, namely Pohl / Rau . After finishing fourth in the Klagenfurt Grand Slam, they took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing . There they were eliminated as third in the preliminary round, but they managed to win in the last game against the Russians Urjadowa / Schirjajewa , which attracted attention because of the political conflict in the Caucasus War .

In 2009 in Stavanger , Saka / Rtwelo reached the World Cup round of 16, which was won by the Americans Branagh / Youngs . In 2010 and 2011 they achieved further top ten placements at FIVB tournaments. At the World Cup in Rome, however, they were eliminated after the preliminary round without winning a set. In the summer of 2012, Saka / Rtwelo ended their career together.
