Brooke Niles (born March 11, 1981 in Ventura , temporarily Brooke Hanson ) is an American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Niles played on the University of California, Santa Barbara volleyball team from 1999 onwards in all positions except the center block.

In 2002 Niles began her career as a beach volleyball player. In the following years she took part in the AVP tour with changing partners . a. with Courtney Guerra , with Sarah Straton and with Angela Akers , with whom she first appeared on the FIVB World Tour in Dubai in 2008. In 2009 and early 2010, Lisa Rutledge was Niles' partner. In Stare Jabłonki , Niles first appeared with her new partner Lauren Fendrick . Fendrick / Niles finished ninth in Sanya . They started 2011 with two fourth places in Brasília and Shanghai . At the World Cup in Rome , they made it into the knockout round as second in the group and made it to the quarter-finals with two more victories. There they had to admit defeat to the future world champions Larissa / Juliana from Brazil in three sets, so that they finished the tournament in fifth place. Later in the year they finished ninth in Stavanger and Moscow and fifth in Klagenfurt and Phuket. In 2012 they only made it into the top ten at the Berlin Grand Slam (ninth). Since 2013 Niles has been playing at national tournaments with changing partners. Since 2014 she has also been a trainer at the “NVL Club Med Academy”.

Private

Brooke Niles has three siblings. Her parents Randy and Tria also played beach volleyball. Niles was married from 2005 to 2012. She has had a son with beach volleyball player Nicholas Lucena since April 2013.
