Antoine Hamid Mourany (born January 24, 1930 in Koubayat , † April 16, 2012 ) was Archbishop of the Maronite Archparchy of Damascus .

Life

Antoine Hamid Mourany was ordained a priest on June 11, 1960 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Damascus on June 5, 1989 . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch , Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir , donated him episcopal ordination on September 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Merhi CML , Bishop of Cairo , and Georges Abi-Saber OLM , Auxiliary Bishop in Antioch . On March 10, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
