Anton Eduard Albert Emil Laube

Anton Eduard Albert Emil Laube (born September 14, 1830 in Polish Wartenberg (Groß Wartenberg), † January 27, 1891 in Breslau ) was royal Prussian lieutenant general and most recently the commander of the 13th Infantry Brigade.

His parents were the captain a. D. Johann Samuel Eduard Laube (* January 28, 1785; † July 20, 1870) and his wife Adelheid von Hoffmannswaldau (* December 14, 1799; † September 12, 1866).

Life

He went to Wahlstatt as a cadet on September 1, 1842 and from there to Berlin as a cadet on May 3, 1847 . On April 28, 1849 he came to the 22nd Infantry Regiment with the character of Portepeefähnrich, on December 14, 1849 he received his patent as Premier-Lieutenant and on October 19, 1850 the patent as Second-Lieutenant. From November 12, 1850 to February 3, 1851 he was assigned to the 3rd Guards Landwehr Regiment, where he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion in Breslau . After his return he came from July 12, 1853 to March 31, 1854 as an adjutant in the fusilier battalion of the 22nd Infantry Regiment. He was then appointed regimental adjutant on January 1, 1859 and promoted to premier lieutenant on March 12, 1859. The following year, he was transferred to the 21st Infantry Brigade on May 12, 1860 to take on business as an adjutant, where he was confirmed as an adjutant on July 1, 1860. He was promoted to captain with patent on February 23, 1861 on January 9, 1864 and at the same time came to the 21st Infantry Regiment as a company commander. In the run-up to the German War of 1866, he was placed as a company commander in the Saxon-Coburg contingent and à la suite of the regiment on April 3, 1866 . During the campaign he fought at Langensalza , Oerlenbach and Hundheim .

After the war he was transferred to the 95th Infantry Regiment on September 25, 1867. Promoted to major on March 10, 1870, he was then aggregated into the regiment and assigned to April 7, 1870. During the Franco-German War he fought near Weißenburg , Wörth , Sedan and Orleans . He also took part in the siege of Paris and in the battles at Ferme l'Hospital, Artenay , Chateaudum , Chartes and Anet. During the campaign he received the Iron Cross 2nd Class on September 16, 1870 and was appointed commander of the Fusilier Battalion on October 1, 1870. There he rose to lieutenant colonel on January 18, 1875 and to colonel on April 18, 1878. shortly afterwards on April 20, 1878 he was transferred to the 63rd Infantry Regiment as a commander, for which he was awarded the Order of the Crown, 2nd Class, on September 13, 1882 . On December 6, 1883 he was promoted to major general and at the same time transferred to the 13th Infantry Brigade as commander. There he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle 2nd Class with Oak Leaves on January 23, 1887 . He was given the character of Lieutenant General on February 14, 1888 and was put up for disposal with a pension .

He died in Breslau on January 27, 1891.

Laube married on May 14, 1857 in Stübendorf ( Neissen district) Luise Hedwig Karoline Elmira Winkler (* February 11, 1832 - February 13, 1910), a daughter of the landlord Karl Winkler . The couple had several children:
