Anton Friedrich Durand

Anton Friedrich Durand (also: AF Dürand and AF Durant ; * in the 18th century ; † before 1817) was a German hotelier and wine merchant , cook and editor of a cookbook .

At the time of the Electorate of Hanover and during the personal union between Britain and Hanover in the late 18th century Anton Friedrich Durand looked even more in 1799 in the New Road of Calenberger Neustadt before Hannover , where he was " Aubergist " and wine merchants in London tavern had that he owned. The building also had a large hall for concerts and dance balls .

In 1800 AF Durand, cook at the “ Königlichen Georgiano ”, but at the same time “ host ” in the Harmonie in Hanover, published his work Neues , which was published by Pockwitz , based on many years of experience and prepared according to the latest taste in the art of cooking , “besides an instruction to make the most excellent types of pastries, cakes, tarts, etc. With sufficient kitchen notes for lunch and dinner for all months and seasons. ”In addition to a 24-page preface, it initially contained an additional 350 pages and was available for purchase for 1 Reichstaler .

Only a little later, “Dürand”, who according to the Hanoverian address book published by the court printer Johann Thomas Lamminger , worked in the Georgianum in 1804 , lived in house number 318 on Kleine Brandstrasse in “Neustadt” .

In 1809, Durand had added a “2nd section” to his work in 1809 with 64 pages, the entire work now cost 1 thaler and 8 groschen .

At the time of the Kingdom of Hanover , only the "Dürang, Wittwe ", aubergist in the House of Harmony at Bäckerstraße 128 could initially be identified for the year 1817 .
