Anton Hollich

Anton Hollich (* 1960 in Vladimirescu , People's Republic of Romania ) is a German orchestral musician , arranger and music teacher . In 2012 he was awarded the Science Prize Excellence in Teaching of the State of Hesse and the Hertie Foundation .

Hollich was born in 1960 as the son of Kapellmeister Anton Hollich senior. born who taught him basic musical skills on the accordion. At the age of 14 he devoted himself to studying the clarinet at the Arad Musikgymnasium (Lyzeum). From 1978 he directed a brass band in Vladimirescu. After graduating from high school, he taught clarinet at the same school and played in the Arad Philharmonic. In 1983 he left for Germany.

Hollich completed his studies from 1983 to 1990 at the Munich University of Music with Professor Josef Schelb . He then became principal clarinet of the Baden-Baden Philharmonic and in 1990 he switched to the SWR Symphony Orchestra of Baden-Baden and Freiburg as bass clarinet .

After teaching assignments at the Hermann Zilcher Conservatory in Würzburg and professorships at the Mannheim , Freiburg and Frankfurt universities of music, he was appointed honorary professor at the Freiburg University of Music in 2016.

Anton Hollich is not only a teacher, but also a musician and arranger. He is in classical music (SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden / Freiburg), chamber music (Augusta Ensemble), salon music (Salon Orchestra Baden-Baden), promenade music (CD "Klarinettenzauber"), solo recordings with the SWR Radio orchestra and dance music (own band “Die Rosenkavaliere”, CD “Mitten im Leben”) at home as well as in brass music . Anton Hollich shows his virtuoso clarinet playing with Ernst Hutter and the Egerland musicians .
