Anton Lanner
Anton Lanner (born December 28, 1882 in Sankt Peter-Freienstein , Styria , † November 9, 1924 in Peggau , Styria) was an Austrian politician . He did not belong to any political party.
Life
After attending compulsory schools in St. Peter-Freienstein and Graz , Anton Lanner attended an agricultural school near Admont . In 1903 he took over his parents' farm as a farmer. Lanner made a name for himself early on as the author of agricultural and political articles in specialist journals.
His short political career began in 1920, when he was elected Vice Mayor of Sankt Peter-Freienstein for a few months until 1921. During the same period, Lanner was also deputy chairman of the Styrian farmers' union . In November 1920 he moved to the National Council as a non-attached member of the National Council , to which he was a member until November 1923. He was then sworn in as a member of the Federal Council.
Anton Lanner was killed in a traffic accident in Peggau in November 1924, at the age of 42 .
Anton-Lanner-Gasse in Weiz has been named after the politician since 1930 .
