Anton Ludwig Stürler

Anton Ludwig Stürler (born October 14, 1725 in Bern , † 1797 in Jegenstorf ), known as Marquis, was a Bernese officer and magistrate.
Life
Anton Ludwig Stürler served in the Diesbach regiment, which was under the command of Count Moritz von Sachsen in the Battle of Fontenoy . In 1748 he became a lieutenant in the new Swiss Guard in Holland, which he left in 1754. In 1748 Stürler was one of the co-founders of the large law firm in The Hague. He married his relative Johanna Gerharda Stürler, daughter of Lieutenant General Johann Rudolf Stürler and Johanna Jacobea Heldevier, with which he came into possession of a considerable fortune. He lived in Vaeshartelt Castle in Maastricht . On 20 August 1758 he acquired by Albrecht Friedrich von Erlach the Jegenstorf Castle . The architect and genealogist Bernhard von Rodt reports that Stürler had a relationship with Erlach's daughter Anna Margaretha von Erlach (1720–1761), married to Abraham von Erlach von Spiez. In 1765 Stürler sold Jegenstorf Castle to his brother Johann Rudolf Stürler. In 1770 he became bailiff at Avenches and in 1785 at Biberstein . From 1770 Stürler was master of barns.
