Anton M. Kolnberger

Anton M. "Koli" Kolnberger (born February 21, 1906 in Reisbach , Niederbayern ; died October 10, 1976 in Munich ) was a German draftsman and author.

After graduating from the humanistic grammar school in Straubing in 1926, Anton Kolnberger studied at the Technical University of Munich, the Academy of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1931 he passed the state examination for drawing teaching (Technical University of Munich). In 1932 he began as a study assistant for drawing at the Wittelsbacher Gymnasium in Munich . From 1938 he was a freelance artist, from 1940 to 1945 he was drafted as a soldier. In 1948 he published the science fiction novel On an unknown star with his own drawings in the Nuremberg publishing house Die Egge . The novel was reissued in 1985 as a Ullstein paperback. From 1968 onwards, numerous books for children and young people, written and illustrated by him, were published, most of which were published by the Favorit-Verlag in Rastatt .
