Anton Nissl (born June 5, 1852 in Fügen (Zillertal) , † January 4, 1890 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian canon lawyer.

Life

Nissl studied law at the University of Innsbruck , which made him Dr. iur. PhD. In 1878 at Kaiser-Wilhelms-Universität Strasbourg with Rudolph Sohm , then in Berlin with Paul Hinschius and Heinrich Brunner . In 1879 he qualified as a professor for canon law in Innsbruck. After a long period of study in Italy, in 1881 he received the supplement to the chair of canon law with Italian lecture language in Innsbruck, where at that time several legal subjects were also taught in Italian for listeners from Welschtirol . After the publication of his main work The Jurisdiction of the Clergy in the Franconian Empire , Nissl was appointed associate professor for canon law and later also for German law at the law faculty of the University of Innsbruck in 1887 . 1888 full professor of canon law at the University of Innsbruck. His daughter married Heinrich von Srbik . He died at the age of 38.
