Anton Ott

Anton Ott (born August 25, 1912 in Augsburg ; † May 27, 2001 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Ott completed a commercial training and then worked as an accountant. He had worked as a tax assistant since 1940 and served in the Augsburg industry from 1940 to 1945. In 1948 he was sworn in as an auditor. From 1964 he worked as an auditor in Augsburg.

Ott joined the Catholic youth movement in 1926 , where he held leading positions from 1930 to 1936. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CSU and was chairman of the Junge Union Augsburg- Schwaben from 1946 to 1948 . In 1965 he became a member of the regional committee of the Christian Socialists.

MP

Ott was from 1948 to 1951 council member of the Haunstetten community and from 1952 to 1966 council member of the city of Augsburg. In 1961 he was elected chairman of the CSU city council group. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1972. In parliament he represented the constituency of Augsburg.
