life and work

Plochberger was married to Maria, geb. Room. He built factory objects for the Steyr industrialist Josef Werndl and, together with the builder Franz Arbeshuber , the houses of the Eysnfeld workers' settlement. This was commissioned by Werndl from 1876/77 on the Steyr island of the same name . These are simple two-story buildings in a closed row. Plochberger also planned more elaborate bourgeois residential buildings. The most famous of these is the Vogelsang Palace villa for Werndl on the hill east of the workers' estate ( Preuenhueber Strasse 14). The plans date from 1877 and are kept in the registry of the Steyr magistrate.
