Anton Yevgenyevich Singov (2011)

Anton Yevgenyevich "Cooller" Singow ( Russian Антон Евгеньевич Синьгов ; born August 5, 1986 in Moscow ) is a Russian e-athlete .

He is one of the most successful Quake players in the world, and the prize money he has won over the course of his career amounts to over 100,000 euros. From November 21, 2005 to July 2011, he was under contract with the German clan mousesports .

Singow was temporarily considered the strongest player in the world in both Quake III and Quake 4 and was able to win several world championships. In 2002, several years after e-sports pioneers like Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel celebrated their first successes, he took part in a tournament outside of Russia for the first time, the World Cyber Games 2002 , at the age of 15 . In the two-on-two tournament, the Russian and Alexei "death" Alexeew took first place in the end. In 2003 and 2005 he won the Electronic Sports World Cup .

After Quake 4 was released in October 2005, it was initially considered practically unbeatable. His winning streak only ended at the ESWC 2006, he was defeated in the semifinals and only finished fourth.

At the ESWC 2008 Singow said in an interview that he was thinking about retiring. However, this step seemed to have been postponed for the time being after his participation in the ESWC Masters of Athens .

At the beginning of 2010 the Russian decided in the course of the ESL Intel Extreme Masters to actively participate in the game again. At the European final he finished third.

After Singow refused to take part in either the DreamHack summer event 2012 or the Quakecon 2012, the end of his e-sports career became apparent. On July 24, 2012, Anton Yevgenyevich Singov confirmed in a private conversation that he had already unofficially resigned as a professional e-athlete.

At the end of 2015, however, he started playing Overwatch on a professional level and returned to the eSports scene. His team Albus Nox, in which he plays another very successful Quake player together with Cypher , is currently considered the best Russian team and one of the top teams in Europe.
