plant

In addition to works of art in public space, room installations and intermediate works, in which he primarily combines stone and video or stone and light installations, Toni Stegmayer has been working on two more extensive groups of works in sculpture and video works since 2000 .

Constellations

Toni Stegmayer's Constellations are serial works made of cut and broken stones that play with the proportion of space and viewer. The constellations are rearranged for each exhibition room.

Mental rotations

Mental rotations get their name from a term used in experimental psychology . They work with the mental performance of the observer, who completes incomplete objects in the mind until they correspond to his viewing habits. The viewer does not accept the reality that deviates from this .

Sleeping Artists | Fetish - Collecting

Toni Stegmayer's video works Sleeping Artists, Collecting, and Fetish form a trilogy. In Sleeping Artists Toni Stegmayer films sleeping performance artists. He is interested in the contrast (antagonism) between the public person and the intimate portrait . Collecting and Fetish address the fetish character of art , especially in contemporary art, in which the power of association of everyday objects has become more essential than the material value of art.
