Jerry Zeniuk

Jerry Zeniuk (* 1945 in Bardowick , Lower Saxony ) is a German -American painter .

Life

He was born as the son of refugees from the Ukraine in a transition camp in Bardowick near Lüneburg. His family emigrated to Boulder, Colorado in 1950, where he received his MFA from the University of Colorado in 1969 . In the same year the company moved to New York. Zeniuk stayed in Hamburg from 1973 to 1974. From 1977 to 1978 he received a DAAD scholarship for a one-year work stay in Berlin, since 1981 he has been a Fellow for Painting at the National Endowment for the Arts and from 2003 a member of the German Association of Artists . From 1993 to 2011 he was professor for painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . Since 2014 he has been a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts at the Alte Spinnerei .
