Anton Weinberger

Anton Weinberger (born April 26, 1843 in Munich , † March 24, 1912 in Taunusstein-Hahn ) was a German landscape and animal painter.

Anton Weinberger studied from April 27, 1861 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Johann Georg Hiltensperger and Alexander Strähuber , then with August Schleich and August Erxleben (1822-1867).

After completing his studies, worked as a drawing teacher in Leipzig and from 1872 in Saint Petersburg , then in Berlin as a student of Paul Meyerheim . Around 1884 he painted dog portraits in Vienna on the order of the court, after which he returned to Munich and stayed there until 1888, then in Wiesbaden until 1902, and since then he has been back in Munich.
