Antoni de Falguera i Sivilla  - alternative spelling Antoni Falguera i Sivilla  - (*  1876 in Barcelona , †  1947 in Barcelona) was a Catalan architect and initially a representative of Modernisme Català , later of Noucentisme .

The son of a wealthy notary public studied at the Escuela de Arquitectura de Barcelona (School of Architecture in Barcelona), which he graduated in 1900. At that time it was a center of modernism and was influenced by the ideas of Antoni Gaudí , Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Lluís Domènech i Montaner . The latter was also one of Falguera's teachers. His brother Josep Maria de Falguera i Sivilla studied at the same school , with whom he later designed several works.

His first major work was the Fàbrica Estruch textile factory in the municipality of Palau-solità i Plegamans , which he designed together with his brother . The municipal cemetery, the town hall and a non-preserved single-family house (all 1900 to 1910) followed at the same location over the next few years. During these years he also built the municipal cemetery in Sentmenat and Casa Sans in Tossa de Mar . With his appointment as assistant to the city planning council Pere Falqués i Urpí in 1906, the focus of his work shifted to Barcelona. Together with Falqués, for example, he designed Casa de la Lactància on Gran Via .

Over the next few years, houses were mainly influenced by modernism. Various school buildings and market halls followed later. The striking entrance portal of the Mercat de la Boqueria on the Rambles is also his work. After Falqués' death, Falguera himself became the new city planning officer of Barcelona. His following works were still influenced by modernism - in particular the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona (municipal music conservatory). With the advent of Noucentisme , he increasingly turned to the preservation and reconstruction of medieval buildings, such as the Casa de la Ciutat (Barcelona City Hall).

He also contributed to a monograph on Romanesque architecture in Catalonia published by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Josep Goday i Casals : Arquitectura romànica a Catalunya (1909–1918) and the monographs Sant Pere de Roda (1906) and Els constructors de les obres romàniques a Catalunya (The constructors of Romanesque works in Catalonia) (1907), the former with a foreword by Puig i Cadafalch.

During the Spanish Civil War he was arrested by representatives of the Anarchist Federation and removed from office.
