Antonio Emmanuilowitsch Spadawekkia
Antonio Emmanuilovich Spadawekkia ( Antonio Spadavecchia ) ( Russian Антонио Эммануилович Спадавеккиа ; born May 21 . Jul / 3. June 1907 greg. In Odessa , † 7. February 1988 ) was a Soviet composer .
life and work
Spadawekkia was of Italian descent and studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Vissarion Schebalin and later with Sergei Prokofiev . After graduating in 1937, he worked as a music teacher and freelance composer.
In addition to ten operas and two ballets , he composed a symphonic suite , an overture on Bashkir folk songs, a piano concerto, chamber music works, songs , plays and film scores .
Spadawekkia died on February 7, 1988 and was buried in the Kunzewo Cemetery in Moscow .
Membership and Honors
Spadawekkia had been a member of the CPSU since 1944 . In 1977 he received the award “People's Artist of the RSFSR ”.
