Antonio Francesco Grazzini (born March 22, 1504 in Florence , † February 18, 1584 in Milan ) was an Italian poet.

Antonio Francesco Grazzini was a pharmacist by profession, founded the Accademia degli Umidi in his hometown in 1540 and was one of the founding members of the Accademia della Crusca in 1582 , in which he used the name Il lasca or Leuciscus ("The Barbel "). He died in February 1584.

Grazzini has developed on the whole territory of comic literature (as epic poet, comic poet and satirist) a large fertility, but the most enduring reputation acquired as a novelist and indeed also in the comic representation through its on Boccaccio is anlehnende collection of short stories Le Cene (Paris 1756; best Edition, Milan 1815, 3 vols.).

His poems, mostly satirical and burlesque, appeared in several collections. Other works by him are the little comical hero poems:

  • La Nanea (Florence 1566) and
  • La guerra dei mostri (Florence 1584); also seven comedies ( Commedie sel in prosa )
