Antonio Giurico

Antonio Giurico (born May 9, 1778 in Veglia (now Krk , Croatia ), † May 25, 1842 in Dubrovnik ) was a Roman Catholic priest and bishop of Dubrovnik .

Life

Antonio Giurico was ordained a priest on October 18, 1801 .

With an imperial decree of November 1, 1829 he was appointed Bishop of Dubrovnik. This appointment was confirmed by Pope Gregory XVI. on July 5, 1830. He was ordained bishop on November 21, 1830 by the Archbishop of Gorizia (today Gorizia e Gradisca), Joseph Walland . With an apostolic letter of September 12, 1839, Pope Gregory XVI appointed him. as the first Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan . The bishops of Dubrovnik held this office until 1890.

Bishop Antonio Giurico died at the age of sixty-fourth, the forty-first year of priests and twelfth years in the episcopate, in Dubrovnik, and was buried there.
