Antonio Grech Delicata

Antonius Grech Delicata Testaferrata Cassia (born February 21, 1823 in Valletta , † December 31, 1876 ibid) was a Maltese Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Gozo .

Life

He came from a Maltese noble family and received on 19 October 1845 sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 17, 1867, he was appointed titular bishop of Calydon . He was ordained bishop on July 14th of the same year by the Cardinal Bishop of Albano Lodovico Altieri ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Alessandro Franchi and Paolo Antonio Micaleff OESA , Bishop of Città di Castello . On November 15, 1867 he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Gozo and on September 24, 1868 as Bishop of Gozo. He solemnly took possession of his diocese on January 24, 1869 . Antonio Grech Delicata was a participant in the First Vatican Council .
