In 1991 he moved to New York , where he initially worked with Roy Hargrove . After a series of albums for the jazz label Novus , the album Here I Stand on Impulse was created in 1996 with guest musicians such as Robin Eubanks , Shirley Scott and Amadou Diallo ! Records . He plays an inconspicuous modern jazz , the pieces are briefly held in ballad character or hinted at, but are used extensively by the musicians involved for improvising, which is why the listener may get the impression that it is a complicated and falsely "free" music. Its very good intonation of the alto saxophone, which is considered difficult by jazz musicians, is remarkable.

Hart is currently a professor at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College City University of New York .
