Antonio Mauro

Antonio Mauro (born June 30, 1914 in Gallina (district of Reggio Calabria ), † December 9, 2001 ) was a Curia Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Antonio Mauro received on 9 July 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Paul VI appointed him on July 4, 1967 titular archbishop pro hac vice of Thagaste and apostolic nuncio in Indonesia . The Pope personally consecrated him bishop on July 16 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Jacques-Paul Martin , Prefect of the Prefecture of the Papal House , and Augusto Gianfranceschi , Bishop of Cesena .

On April 12, 1969, the Pope appointed him Vice-President of the Secretariat for the Unbelievers. The Pope appointed him Administrator of Saint Paul Outside the Walls in October 1975 . He resigned from his office on December 10, 1990.
