Athletic career
Antonio Nibali joined his brother Vincenzo's UCI WorldTeam for the 2017 season and contested his first Grand Tour for the team with the Vuelta a España 2017 , which he finished 102nd overall. He achieved his first international victory on the 7th stage of the Tour of Austria 2018 , in which he narrowly prevailed against his last companion Paweł Cieślik on the final climb of 3.6 kilometers from a larger group of leaders .
