Antonio Notario Caro (born November 19, 1972 in Mataró ) is a former Spanish football player .

Player career

The beginnings

Antonio Notario has his career at FC Granada in the Spanish Segunda División B started. For the 1993/94 season he went to the B-team of Valencia . The Catalan then went to Real Murcia , where he played half of the season's games. In the 1995/96 season Notario was under contract with CP Almería, but even there he only stayed for a year - he only played twice in the entire season. Notario remained in the third division for the following years. Notario was a regular at Guadix CF and Granada CF until 2000.

As a professional

In the summer of 2000, Notario made his first step into professional football (at the age of 28), which is why he can be described as a late starter. When FC Sevilla Notario quickly became a regular player and could still at the first attempt with the Andalusians in the first division to rise. There, too, he was a regular for two years until he had to sit on the bench in 2003/2004. Notario was under contract with Sevilla for three more seasons. Although he was only a substitute goalkeeper, he was a member of the team that won the 2006 UEFA Cup . After this success he moved to the second division Real Murcia , with whom he rose in his premiere season. There he also earned a regular place.

Celta

After Javier Clemente was signed , Notario no longer had a future at Murcia, so he left the relegated team free of charge to sign with the second division club Celta Vigo . His coach José Murcia made him number one in goal. He lost this status on the 32nd matchday of the 2008/09 season when Vigo was fighting relegation. He was left on the bench behind Ismael Falcón . In the summer of 2009 he left Vigo again and joined league rival Albacete Balompié . Here he was ahead of Jesús Cabrero , but lost his place after a third of the season. In the summer of 2010 he ended his career.
