Antonio Spavone

Antonio Spavone (born June 2, 1994 in Naples ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career

Spavone began his motorsport career in karting in 2005 , where he was active until 2010. In 2010 he also made his debut in formula racing and took part in six Formula Abarth races for Alan Racing . He remained without points. In 2011 Spavone stayed in Formula Abarth and moved to JD Motorsport . Except for one event, he took part in every race. Fourth place was his best result. He was 13th in the Italian ranking and 14th in the European ranking. In addition, he competed for JD Motorsport in four races of the Formula Pilota China Series .

In 2012 Spavone started for Euronova Racing in the Auto GP World Series . After the fifth event, he lost his cockpit. After a break from a racing weekend, Spavone returned to the Auto GP for the last race of the season with Ombra Racing . With fourth place as the best result, he was tenth in the drivers' championship. His Euronova team-mate Sergei Sirotkin managed to win two races in the season. In addition, Spavone took part in the first half of the GP3 series season for Trident Racing in 2012 . There he was in 30th place in the drivers' standings. In 2013 Spavone switched to SuperNova International , the championship team of the previous season, within the Auto GP . After the first two racing weekends, he lost his cockpit. In the overall standings, he was 14th. He also took part in GT races and started twice in the International GT Open and the Italian GT championship.
